You can learn about the rich Oneida heritage and history by visiting the Oneida Museum. The story of the Oneida (People of the Standing Stone) unfolds in exhibits that start with the Creation Story, morphs into the history of the Iroquois Confederacy and then ends with how the Oneida people are striving to keep their traditions and customs alive today. An extensive “hands-on” area lets visitors touch and feel custom Oneida beadwork, tools, and traditional clothing as they walk through a replica traditional longhouse.

Points of interest on the tour can be customized to fit the visitor’s interests and can include an eye-catching view at the buffalo overlook, then travel to theOneida Cultural Heritage Village featuring a traditional longhouse (expected to open summer of 2018), five 100+ year old log homes originally inhabited on the reservation after the Oneidas move from their New York Homelands. The flags at the Oneida Veterans Memorial Wall wave proudly as you depart the village and venture on throughout the reservation.
